The van Asch Central Otago Vineyards

Gibbston Vineyard
‘Havoc Farm’ was planted on ‘Pigburn’ soils in Gibbston in 1992, and is a 3.5ha vineyard, now showing great vine maturity.
We consistently see small tight berries with a delicate fragrance and depth of flavour from this beautiful vineyard based on the Gibbston Back Road.
Bendigo Vineyards
Our two vineyards; ‘Chinamans Terrace’, and ‘Trig Hill’ are planted in one of Central Otago’s newest and most exciting wine appellations;
Bendigo.
Bendigo. ‘Chinamans Terrace’ is named so due to this being the area where the first Chinese goldminers were based, this is a 13ha vineyard planted in 2000 on shallow, sandy loam soils. ‘
Trig Hill’ is a 20ha vineyard with a trig station at the top of the vineyard. The soil profile consists of a silt topsoil with clay, lime and schist rock fragments below, a unique but typical profile from this semi-arid continental climate.
Trig Hill has mostly Pinot Noir and some Pinot Gris, Riesling and Viognier planted.
