Venue Hire Wedding Reception Terms & Conditions
1. Venue Hire
The Winehouse venue hire fee provides exclusive use of the building, grounds, facilities and courtyard & marquee (Marquee available October 1 to April 30).
The venue hire fee includes: White linen tablecloths & napkins, tables (rectangle only), chairs, all glassware, crockery, cutlery, cake table & cake knife, heating if required, piped in music (from our Winehouse playlist), tea light candles, wait staff, set up, breakdown and clean up of venue.
The venue hire also includes a 1 hour consultation that includes a venue site inspection, initial email and / or phone correspondence to confirm booking details.
The venue hire fee doesn’t include: Wedding planning services, table decorations, flowers or arrangements, specialized venue decoration or ‘theming,’ additional lighting, sound systems, band or microphone (we can however recommend providers), on site ceremony access or set up .
Venue Hire Terms:
Evening Hire: Venue Access from 5pm to 12pm (Exclusive Use)
Full Day Hire: Venue Access from 11am to 12pm (Exclusive Use)
2. Deposits
A 50% non refundable deposit of the venue hire fee is required within 21 days of making your booking to confirm your chosen wedding date or sooner should a second party wish to book the same date and the balance to be paid on completion of the event as part of your final bill. An invoice will be provided to the client on receipt of the deposit.
Should deposit and signed terms & conditions not be received within the specified 21 days your booking may be deemed abandoned.
3. Payment
The Client agrees to make full and final payment (including venue hire balance) immediately upon completion of the function.
We accept the following forms of payment:
Visa, Master Card, American Express, Eftpos, Cash, NZD Bank Cheque (Made out to ‘The Winehouse’) or
Direct credit to the following account: The Winehouse & Kitchen
BNZ Queenstown: 02-0948-0249441-000
Please put wedding party name as a reference so way may indentify payment.
4. Cancellation of Event – Force Majeure
In the event of a confirmed booking being cancelled, The Winehouse reserves the right to retain any non-refundable deposit. Cancellation within 7 days of the function will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total estimated function amount.
Subject to this clause, no party to this Agreement shall be responsible to the other for any changes to the agreed function/event requirements should the changes be a result of any statute, governmental regulation or any act of god, fire, natural disaster, damage to the venue or other causes beyond the reasonable control of the parties. In the event of such a force majeure, the parties shall agree to amend or cancel the Agreement and all deposits shall be refunded. The Winehouse will not be liable for any damages caused as a result of cancellation.
5. Notification Of Wedding Reception Requirements
The Client is required to advise The Winehouse of all final requirements such as menu and beverage choices, entertainment, finalized table and guest seating plan, AV requirements, special requests, timings and run-sheet (run sheet template provided by The Winehouse along with table plan template) details etc no later than 21 working days prior to the function/event.
Any amendments made by the Client after such notifications are subject to an amendment fee which will be negotiated with the Client before the request amendments are undertaken.
6. Confirmation Of Guest Attendance Numbers.
Final guest numbers will be taken and billed as that confirmed 21 days prior to the actual wedding date. Please advise this on your guest wedding invitations.
Please note our maximum capacity for a banquet dinner is 120.
7. Guest & Client Arrival
Clients agree to begin and conclude their function at the scheduled time outlined in their confirmation.
Access to the venue before the agreed venue hire access time is not permitted unless pre arranged with management for the purpose of delivering flowers, wedding cake or gifts.
We advise printing the agreed time of arrival at The Winehouse on invitations or guest itineraries if guests will be arriving individually.
8. Menu
Menu prices and other prices listed may be subject to change at The Winehouse’s discretion. Price variations for new season’s menus will be sent to the client upon request. The menus are subject to seasonal availability.
The Winehouse will advise the Client of any changes to the agreed menu.
The menu’s and wine lists and their associated prices in this literature are subject to change without notice. Changes in wedding numbers & dietary requirements must be made & The Winehouse notified 21 days prior to wedding date.
9. Beverages
The Winehouse allows consumption of Van Asch, Freefall, Rock Ferry and Hawks Head wines only and beer, juices and soft drinks from our beverage menu. Please note we do not have sprits or RTD’s available for purchase or consumption.
BYO is not permitted. However should you require special champagne of your choice for toasting, we allow this at a corkage fee of $15 per bottle.
Bar Tabs: Please advise us of your bar tab limit 7 days prior to actual date of wedding.
Glassware breakages are $7.50 per glass (unless broken by Winehouse staff) and will be added onto final bill.
Dinner beverages are tray serviced by our staff. 1 x bottle of red and 1 x bottle of white wine may be placed on each table, though glass pours are encouraged for less wastage and responsible service of alcohol. After the third course, and during the first dance, bottles are removed from tables and bar service commences.
The Winehouse staff reserve the right to refuse service of alcohol to persons deemed to be intoxicated – The Winehouse encourages a relaxed and friendly environment for guests and staff to enjoy themselves. Intoxicated, rude or aggressive persons will be removed.
10. Displays, Decorations and Exhibits
Any specialized displays, favors, decorations, lighting required for the function by the client shall be approved in writing by The Winehouse.
Displays and decorations being brought into the venue are at the client’s sole responsibility.
The Winehouse is responsible for table settings and basic candle lighting only.
Table Centre Pieces, Fairy Lights, Lanterns, Streamers, Chair Covers, Sound System, Specialized lighting or candles must be set up by the client and a time to do this shall be pre arranged with Winehouse Management.
Should this not be possible we recommend the use of wedding planning or event planning services.
11. Wedding Planning Services & Consultation
The Winehouse venue hire fee includes an initial email and or phone enquiry consultation and a 1 hour onsite familiarization of the venue to discuss set up, table plan options, menu options, beverages (a wine tasting can be requested) and venue details.
Additional wedding planning services and consultations to help you plan your day are recommended.
The Winehouse can arrange the services of a dedicated wedding planning professional to assist in the planning of your day. These services are an additional charge.
12. Smoking
There is a designated smoking area behind the schist fireplace with ash trays provided. Smoking is not permitted on croquet lawn, entrances to building, the courtyard area, marquee, or boardroom gardens. Cigarette butts found in these areas will incur an additional clean up fee.
13. Closure and finishing times
The bar closes at 11.30pm along with the final song from the band. Guest must have vacated premises and car park by 12pm.
Noise must be kept to a minimum when vacating the property as we have neighbors.
Transport options can be arranged by The Winehouse at no extra charge but must be pre arranged at least 7 days in advance.
14. General Terms
- The Winehouse accepts no responsibility for the loss, breakages, or damages of client or guests property.
- The Winehouse accepts no responsibility for any occurrence, event, weather event, act of god, act of terrorism or natural disaster resulting in injury, property damage or death as a result of such an event.

- Credit Card details must be provided for security of payments.
We (The Wedding Party) understand and accept the terms and conditions as set out in this contract.
